Wedding Ceremony | Sioux Falls Convention Center

Have you always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception?  Living in the Midwest, the thought of having anything with your wedding outdoors can be scary due to the unpredictable seasons we experience.  Even planning just your photos to be outside can be stressful enough!  So if you really want to capture an outdoor feel, why not bring the outdoors in? Here at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, we have high ceilings that have the capability of being utilized to hang things from.  You could do a room full of floating lanterns that look like the ones you release into the sky.  You could hang a whole bunch of ceiling draping to give your room that outdoor “tent” feel. You could also hang lights throughout the ceilings to give it a barnyard feel.  Dim the lights and have LOTS of candles, just like you would have to if you were actually hosting it outside.  Basically, pretend you are outside and don’t use all of the modern advances that are available to us.  Bring in picnic tables and wooden chairs, and use things like burlap and old vintage looking frames and windows.  Check with the facility you are using and see if they could get in some old fashioned soda bottles you could put in a trough with ice, or even an old fashioned soda machine.  The Convention Center also allows you to bring vehicles into certain rooms, so maybe you could find and old fashioned car or two and park them as “props” to help create the outdoor atmosphere.  There really are lots of ways to bring an outdoor wedding in as long as you’re working with a venue that has the ability to help you get creative, so give us a call today at the Sioux Falls Convention Center!
