When you get engaged and begin the process of planning your wedding, one of the very first things you should think about is your budget. You may get overwhelmed when you start figuring out how much you need to spend to get all of the things you want, and it may even discourage you a little if you don’t think you can afford all of the “fancy” things. However, there are many ways to get creative and still be able to afford all of the expenses that come with getting married. Often times if you are a member of a church, there will a significant discount to have your ceremony there. If you aren’t member of a church, you can look into one of the local parks, as it is fairly inexpensive to rent out a space for the afternoon. There are also other venues out there that have the ability to hold ceremonies and receptions. Here at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, we have the space and experience to make both happen for you! When you combine both of these, there is also a discount compared to what you would pay to do them each at a different location. In addition to that, we are connected to the Sheraton hotel and there are discounts and even complimentary rooms when you hold your wedding blocks there. The Convention Center has everything you need to make your day complete (except for an Officiant to actually marry you), so much of your budget can be simplified to one facility. We offer all of the basics that you need in our standard rental package, so if you want all you’d have to do is pay the rent and pay for food and you’d be all set! The standard packages include tables, linens, napkins, place settings, centerpieces, head table on risers, dance floor, punch, power for your DJ, insurance, and even some lounge furniture and ficus trees with icicle lights to add a little extra pizzazz to your room! Of course there are additional items you can purchase if you want to add even more, so we do offer enhancement packages at all different price levels to accommodate a wide variety of budgets. You can add some up lighting, crystal chandeliers, ceiling draping, ice sculptures, projectors for a slideshow and more! If you want to stick to the basics, we’ll use all of our standard items and you won’t even have to worry about coming in and setting the tables, decorating, or cleaning up because we’ll do all the work for you! You even get assigned an Event Manager, who acts as your wedding planner to help you along the way. Our wedding menu also has different price levels for you to choose from, and if you still don’t see anything listed on the menu that will work within your budget, don’t worry because we can customize something just for you to fit any price level! We provide hosted and cash bars, so you also have the option of letting the guests purchase what they want to drink during the reception.
